Hey Guys!

I want to move the drive with the OS on it from one PC to another PC that has completely different specs. Is it as simple as just installing the hard drive in the other PC? Or what do I need to do to do this?

Thanks guys!

If both computers are extremely similar in hardware (mostly using the same chipset) then it CAN work... but not likely to work well. Also, major hardware changes are going to require you to call up MS each and every time to register your software... and after a while that will not work so well.

If you absolutely need the same operating environment on multiple devices then look into Linux Live CDs which can do this, or look into having a server on your network which can run virtual machines on all of your computers and follow you around with all of your apps and documents. Maybe in 10 years there will be a more graceful option (like your phone holding everything and taking over whatever hardware is in front of you... see ubuntu's...
Not going to work. Might be able to uninstall the first computers drivers then put the drive in the second computer. It may boot up but most likely it will blue screen. 95% sure your going to need to do a fresh install of the os and if its a oem copy then your going to need a new cd key.
