So the title says it all. Im wondering if a r9 270x gpu will work with a10 7850k. I read alot of artixles saying it only works with r7 240 and 250. But i saw a video on youtube that it was paired with a r9 290x.

More about : kaveri apu a10 7850k work compatible gpu specifically 270x

You cannot run dual graphics with any R9 series. Dual GPU only works with the R7 240 and maybe 250. It will work with the GPU, but will probably bottleneck it. Are you looking to build something, or upgrade an existing machine?

Well, it will work as a newer graphics card, but APUs are pretty meh when used as CPUs.
Just have make sure to tell your bios to use the graphics card instead of the onboard/chip graphics.

Unless you were trying to get them to crossfire or something.

Oh ok. If that is the case which would be better? Using 7850k + r7 240/250 or 7850k + r9 270x? Itll be used to play games like BF4 and other modern games in hopefully high graphics and high resolutions. im also considering the a10 6800k + r9 270x because it has been getting good reviews
im looking to upgrade my existing pc .

not too much of a cpu difference. the gpu is what excels when comparing the 7850k and 6800k. in my opinion if youre going with a discrete graphics card just go intel or FX. if you want to cheap out, go with an athlon 760k. youre paying more for the gpu and sacrificing cpu performance with the apu's for no reason when you have a discrete graphics card doing the work anyway.

(info on apu comes from experience)

At the cost of a 7850k, you may as well buy an i5 4430 or 4440, if are thinking of pairing it up with a 270x. For the cost of a 7850k and an R7 240/250 you could easily get an i3 and a far better card.
