Is a modular PSU better than a regular PSU?

Hello! This is my first gaming pc build, and I was going to go with a corsair PSU. I found two deals on amazon, but I don't know which to get. The modular is cheaper because it is on sale.

Modular

Non Modular

Solution
Modular is usually preferred (and usually more $) because it allows you to leave out the cables you don't need, making for less clutter and better air flow. But as far as "better", there's no difference. Some Purists believe the extra electrical connection of modular PSUs adds unnecessary impedance to the circuit, but that is pretty much a moot point. The make/model/quality is far more important. And the capacity of the unit for what it has to run.

Can go either/or, if a small tight case, then modular comes in handy, if cable management is good in your case then no real need for modular. As far as an either/or on the two PSUs you show, those are entry level for Corsair so in part depends on what you plan to run with it - mobo, CPU, GPU, etc
