So i was setting up my new rig last night, and plugged the motherboard in and hit the cool little "start" button and saw everything fire up as expected.

then i went and installed all my components, and hit the power button, and the fans and system started coming to life for about 1 second, then everything died.

now when i plug in the psu and hit the start button, absolutely nothing happens. if this wasn't a computer, i'd immediate look for a fuse somewhere that i blew, thats what it feels like happened.

im not sure if the PSU or mobo has fuses that are replaceable, but something bad has happened methinks. i've followed all the advice on this forum to no avail.

any ideas?? I was going to return and get a new mobo.

my build

- i5-4670k
- Thermaltake smart 750w psu (brand new)
- Asus Maximum Hero motherboard
- 8gb ram
- PNY GTX 770

everything in brand new, and worked for a minute. then after final assembly and setup, started up for about 1 second, and then hasn't made a peep since. the "start" and "reset" buttons on the motherboard are still lit up, its the only thing that is.
