so I got the XL1's recently and for xbox they're amazing which is why I started to consider to try and use it for my PC but i'm not really sure as to how I would go about that...

Here are some specs of my hardware:
Monitor:
https://www.asus.com/Commercial_Monitors_Projectors/VK228H/
PC:
Vista
I have 3 usb 2 slots available
3.5mm headphone slot
I do have a 3.5mm microphone slot but it doesn't work for some reason
A second VGA output the other being used by the monitor (do note that the second VGA output will be being used by another monitor soon)

So my question to this community is how the hell do I hook up my XL1 to my PC without the use of RCA?

No, it isn't being picked up by my netbook at all but considering they were bloody advertised to be compatible with both the xbox360 and PC one would assume that the damn headsets would at least have a freaking guide for PC connection but nope, the quick setup guide

Try connecting the USB and the audio jack on the headsets to the pc at the same time. They may only be getting power from the USB and need the jack to transfer audio signals. If that doesn't work then I guess they just aren't meant to be connected to pc.

Thank you sooo much for all the help, there's just one final question: how would i connect the microphone to my PC? I know that i would need to convert the 2.5mm jack into a 3mm jack but from there i have no clue because my microphone jack doesnt work :/

I dont mean to keep throwing adapters in your face, but if your microphone port doesn't work you can try something like this: http://www.amazon.com/CommonByte-Headset-Microphone-Converter-Adapter/dp/B00A3RV2TI

I have never actually tried one of these, but it appears to be the only solution.

Right so far I'm still waiting on the RCA to 3.5mm converter but I'm fairly sure that'll work. Converting the chat cable to 2.5mm and then hooking it up to an external usb sound card seemed to of worked It was getting picked up and I was able to use it fine, But it was making an annoying buzzing sound and it broke the day after. So I have ordered another sound card (3 in fact) and I'll see if they work :D

*edit* after receiving the first one in the post today there are numerous problems that I have ran into...
the first and probably the most major one is that the sound levels of the microphone are extremely quiet, so quiet that in order for friends to hear me I was required to have the microphone basically inside my mouth AND i needed to shout for them to hear me and even after all that they could only hear my voice really quietly. I have tried several "fixes" which include; turning up ALL of my microphone inputs on all applications, E.G steam, skype, etc (didnt work), using a different USB port (didnt work).

The second problem is that when the microphone is plugged in it causes an annoying buzzing sound to play in the headset.
Have you got any help for these issues

*side note* I'm also sorry for resurrecting a dead thread but it was required :/
