Ok, so I was planning on buying a PC build and had a question about networking. So I have a router (Arris if that matters) on my desk. I have wifi but wanted to get wired network because I heard it is better for online gaming. So how do I set one up? DO I need to buy anything? Thanks!!

You have the router right on the desk next to your PC?
Then all you should need is an ethernet cable.

all you need to buy is a good long cat 5e or 6 cable to go from the modem/router. on the back of the router will be ports numbered 1-4 just plug the cable into port 1. and plug the other end into the motherboard ethernet port. install windows and all the drivers any your all set.

The WAN port would connect to the modem. One of the 4 LAN ports is what you're looking for.
