So Im looking to build a PC and need advice on a GOOD GPU. Something that can run BF4 on medium OR high settings 50-60 FPS. My budget is $180-$200 for the GPU. Nothing above, Nothing below. I plan to upgrade later on.

Solution
Just go with the exact build you made krauser. For your budget there is no need to go for an Intel setup. Everything in our build is good except if you do not plan to add more RAM later get two 4gb sticks so that they run in dual channel.

The difference between the 270 and 270x is clock speed. That's pretty much it. If you can overclock the 270 you can get it running as fast as a 270x. The only other difference is the 270x has more power connectors allowing it more overclock headroom.

Since you said you want to play battlefield 4 the 270 is your very best option in that price range

Ok and which of these would you reccomend? And if you could, could you please post a full build that includes a speaker, keyboard and OS as well as the other components for $700 ? I just want to be sure what goes best with that GPU. Much appreciated.

I REALLY like the Radeon 260X for $150ish

I'm assuming you are in the US

Intel i5 4570

XFX Radeon R260X

ASRock Z87
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157370

Kingston HyperX 8GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104360

Corsair CX600M - $80 but has a $20 rebate
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139048

Don't forget your legal copy of Windows :)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832416712

All these parts will run $660

Case / HDD / DVD / keyboard / mouse / speakers will still be required

I don't have strong opinions of those, so I don't feel like recommending them.

That's what I would build

if you want to trim more, the i3 will save you $80:

BUT will def impact gaming performance on games made recently. Newer games like BF4 and Crysis 3 REALLY like more cores, like the quad core vs the dual core and will show def faster frame rates.

Now is that gonna be able to run BF4 medium to high? Cause I was looking at the HIS Radeon R9 270 GPU for $185 IDK if thats better or not.

people might filet me on here for saying this, but you could get 2x2GB of ram to save some cash, and still play games good, as well as get a basement model H81 motherboard for $60 instead of the $100 ASrock I picked, that would save you about $60... enough to fit the R9270 in, or used the same GPU and get a HDD and Keyboard, etc.

I wouldn't skimp though.

What do you think about the build I have though? Should I get the R9 270 or GTX 660 instead? Is this build good for BF4? Easy to upgrade later down the road?

the 660 is a VERY good card... but if I was going to get an Nvida I would rather get the 670, which runs a lot more.

I think for what you pay to get a 660, you'd be better off getting the nvidia card with a 256 bit memory interface (760 or 670)

I really like Radeon's cheaper cards, so I would say R9 270, its the same core as the 7870. and it has the 256 bit memory interface, that the R7 260X doesn't have.

But whats the difference between the R9 270X and R9 270? And It doesnt matter which is cheaper. I just want one within $180-$200 that can perform the BEST.

Ok thanks. Also is HIS version the real deal or some cheap knock off. Is it a good quality manufacturer? Again, thanks!

Your question ANSWERED:
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/R9_270_Direct_Cu_II_OC/26.html

The above chart shows you how the cards COMPARE. The following cards are basically the SAME for performance (assuming similar cooler/GPU frequency):
R9-270,
HD7870,
GTX660.

The ASUS R9-270 in the above benchmark is ahead slightly because it's not a base model R9-270.

*So get one of these models that falls into your PRICE RANGE, but I recommend the GTX660's:

I chose the GTX 660 and it has SLI but not Crossfire. Is there any motherboard thats around $80-90 that is good quality with SLI?

I would actually get the 270 over the 660 especially if battlefield 4 is a priority. Not to say the 660 isn't great. I owned one for a while and it was fantasric.

Normally you need a $100+ motherboard for SLI. There may be some cheaper ones but idk of any

Ok could you please link me the 270 because I found a bunch and want the BEST one that is around $180-$200

I agree.
I also mentioned the GTX660 due to Shadowplay (game recording), PhysX and the ability to use G-Sync if he ever bought a G-Sync monitor.

If it's for BF4 then Mantle will make a small difference with the AMD card depending on your CPU but it might be no more than 20%. So weight those Pros and Cons.

As for SLI or Crossfire motherboards, go to pcpartpicker ... I'll send this and look for motherboards and post a link..

Ok thanks, really appreciate it. Also, one with 32 GB max and crossfire is appreciated. Also, is it necessary for me to get a cooler. If so, any suggestions?

@photonboy
Oh yeah I'm all for the nvidia features and stuff. In fact I'm kinda a fanboy but since battlefield 4 (I believe that the OP said that was a priority) is so AMD optimized it, IMO, just makes more since to go that route.

@krauser
If by "cooler" you mean a CPU cooler no you don't need to buy an after market one. The only time you need to buy one is if the stock is too loud or you are overclocking
