Hi all,

I have been experiencing connection dropping with WIFI on which I have been receiving support via the D'Link forum. The guy even remotely connected to my router to look at my settings to see what is wrong. After he changed a few things about he explained that it is an issue with the many WIFI connections I am receiving & this is interrupting (I am living in an apartment block). But what would help is to get a new router with dual band frequency.

Do you agree with this?

I have a DLink DIR-655 & the router he suggested to buy is DIR-826L. He first suggested the DIR-868L then I told the guy I was on a budget :D

Is DLink the way to go? Or can you suggest another router that is better?

Thanks, James

You have a number of channels to use, although most use the default channel. If you have too much interference it is probably because you are on a popular, congested channel and have to deal with interference from your neighbors. Remember, wireless networking is just using radios. Log into your router and change the channel it uses.

also see if there is a radio strengh...some have it and some are set too low.

also, is there a specific place where the dropping off happens.

I say this because I had one customer complain her router&modem were bad. I went to take a look and she had it down stairs and the problem area was in the kitchen (her house design) with her washer and dryer right in line. Moved it off table area of desk about 3 feet higher to change directional of going through huge metal obstacles and bingo, issue solved and she was happy
