Graphics card intel hd graphics 4000

Is this graphics card good for Minecraft? I really want to play modded minecraft like FTB Unleashed and Attack of the B-Team.

  1. Minecraft can be played with low level graphics, which HD 4000 will be one of those. You will just have to lower you settings and expect 30 FPS. In addition, mod and the game itself uses more CPU power, so it would depend more on your CPU.
  2. You also don't specify which of the HD4xxx GPU's you have. The "4600" is much better than lower numbers.

You can Google for "Minecraft" and your exact GPU (find the CPU name), or use CPU-Z, or GPU-Z.

As per the above comment, you'll need to tweak the settings including the Resolution (recommend 1600x900 or possibly LOWER resolution).

Use FRAPS so you can view your frame rate (as said, want at least 30FPS).
  3. I am buying a new pc with that graphics card. These are the specs of the pc:

    OS - Windows 8
    Proccesor - Intel Core i7 3770S (3.1GHz, 8MB Cache)
    Operative memory - 4GB DDR3, 1333MHz
Graphics card - Intel HD Graphics 4000
    Power input - 180W
  4. I'm assuming that's a pre-built PC, but either way here is a link to a discussion

  5. Yes it is pre-built lenovo. Should I buy it? I play games often. Usually minecraft. That PC is the best what I can find for my money.
  6. What is your budget and location?
  7. I am in Lithuania. And I am around 900$, in my country currency it would be 2200 LT.
  8. The Lenovo PC you have mentioned earlier will be able to run Minecraft, but it's more business and casual oriented instead of gaming. In other words, there should be better one out there for gaming for your budget. Something that comes with a discrete GPU, and a decent i5 will work.

I can help you look for one if you can find me a website that you trust and willing to purchase from.

The website would be in my language, is that a problem?
  10. Minecraft is dependent on your CPU not your GPU.

Would these spec run minecraft good? Would it lag with modpacks?

    OS - Windows 8
    Proccesor - Intel Core i7 3770S (3.1GHz, 8MB Cache)
    Operative memory - 4GB DDR3, 1333MHz
Graphics card - Intel HD Graphics 4000
    Power input - 180W
  12. According to http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Hardware_performance
Under Results for 1.7.5, first one with i7-3770 and Intel HD 4000, 1600x1200.
Framerate in Windows mode = 70
Framerate in Full Screen = 40

These tests are done without modpacks.

If you're OK with that, then go for that system, if not then we will have to look at others.
  13. Looks good. I would install optifine it would boost it. And one or two mods installed wouldn't lag. If I would post a couple of sites with the pcs I can buy for my budget, could you help me choose the best one for minecraft?
  14. Prefer posting the specs, but links will do, too.
  15. Specs will work.

    CPU - i3-4130 3.4GHz
    GPU - Geforce 650GTX

    ---------------------------

    CPU - i3-3220 3.3GHz
GPU - AMD Radeon HD 6670

    ---------------------------
    Best choice I found.
    CPU - i3-4130 3.4GHz
GPU - AMD Radeon HD 6670
    GPU memory - 2GB
    RAM - 8GB

    ---------------------------

This is only one shop. These are the best things I could get for my budget. I will get more later.
  16. GTX 650 outperforms HD 6670.
So far the first one has the best spec since it has the same CPU as the last one.

Keep adding more as you wish, and we will get to a conclusion at the end.
  17. CPU - Intel® Core™ i5-4440 3.1/3.3Ghz Four Cores
    GPU - NVIDIA® GeForce™ GT630 2GB 128Bit
  18. What do you do other than Minecraft? Any other games? Do you do other stuff on the PC?
  19. I use it with MS word, MS paint. I use it for school stuff. I play browser games. I play ROBLOX. I looking up to play BattleField 2 or maybe 3.
  20. If you're looking to play BF2/3 then GTX 650 is your best bet.
If you are just going to play Minecraft then i5-4440 + GT 630 would be better.
  21. Would any of the given could run both???
  22. Best answer
GTX 650 one will do better for both.
  23. Thx for the help. I am really happy. :DDDDDD
  24. No problem, have fun with the system.
  25. I also agree the slightly weaker CPU + GTX650 is the better solution.

FYI, the i7-4770S uses the HD4600 GPU which is pretty good (for an Intel GPU). However, here's a video that compares the GTX650 to the HD4600:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XZcchxgnyY

Basically, the GTX650 runs the games a lot better. In the video the GTX650 version is first, then the HD4600 starts at the same settings and you can see it really stutters.

(The comment about Minecraft using the CPU, not the GPU is completely wrong. All games use BOTH, however there is an optimal BALANCE. A great CPU like the i7-4770S using it's HD4600 is not nearly as good as the slightly weaker CPU + GTX650.)
  26. My macbook pro uses the intel 4000 hd and I can play Minecraft maxed out unless the blocks you render is like 20 and there are abundant players on the server
