I was just looking in my task manager because a program wasn't responding and I noticed a process labeled "Java-C.exe" was using a little over 1.5GB of RAM.

Any reason why? I don't really care as it isn't slowing down my system as far as I can tell, but it is a little strange.

Thanks,

Well to me it looks like a virus masking its self as a Java file running.
Or Malware, or a bitcoin remote mining program.

In any case if its using 1.5gb of memory highly suspect.
If slowing the computer down and using a lot of cpu processing percent for the task.

Time to do a virus scan and, a malware scan.

End the task first, see if the computer speeds up to confirm the above.

Then a virus scan and, a malware scan.

I didn't notice any speed increases when I ended it, but that could just be due to the fact I have a fairly powerful CPU and 16GB of RAM and I haven't been doing anything heavy. I'm running a virus scan now, thanks for your help.

Ahh, you were right. Antivirus identified it as a Bitcoin miner.
