Hey all. I recently got into steaming on twitch.tv an would like to use a dual monitor setup so I don't have to keep minimizing to read my chat and everything

Do the monitors have to be the same size?

Also for my secondary monitor I was wondering if it would be beneficial to go with a 144hz monitor to replace my 60hz I use for gaming now.

Reason I ask is I heard it makes the gameplay have less screen tear and overall more fluid.

Dual monitors to not have to be the same size.

I do not recommend as not many people can see the difference between a 60hz vs 144hz or even 120hz. It basically allows the monitor to display up to 144 fps, unlike 60hz monitor will only display 60 fps and the extra fps means nothing. Unless you've actually used a 144hz monitor and be able to see the difference then I don't recommend getting one, in addition, your GPU has to be able to output the game at 144hz constantly in order for it to utilize that refresh rate.

The second monitor doesn't have to be the same size or resolution. What I don't know is if you hook up a 144Hz monitor with a 60Hz monitor if you be able to push beyond 60 FPS.

Does the 60Hz monitor toss out the extra frames or does 144Hz monitor suffer the 60Hz monitor cap? I would guess the 144Hz monitor only gets 60 FPS.

although the monitor doesn't have to be the same size, i would hate not having monitors of the same size same model sitting next to each other, i did it before and it bothered the heck outta me lol. i rock two 23" monitors side by side

i would get the same make and model, if you get different model and screen sizes it wont affect performance at all, but i can't stand having one monitor not the same size as the other or the bezel not matching the other monitor.

and i second that 60hz is good

i watch twitch what' syour channel?
