Windows 7 or 8.1 for my new build?

So ill be getting a new build in a few months and dunno if i should get windows 7 or 8.1

I hear a lot of bad about windows 8 but some people said it boots much faster and can run newer games better.

I personally don't like windows 8 from what i see but, if its not that bad ill get it.

Windows 7 is also more $$$ than 8.1 so i only want to get 7 if new games will still work on it, and or other programs.

Windows 8/8.1 tends to show better performance from the CPU, especially for AMD's FX series. There isn't much point to buy Windows 7 when Windows 8 is available. There isn't that much of a difference, which is why upgrading to it is arguable, but purchasing it over 7 is a no-brainer.

Interface is a major concern for operating system, especially since win8 changes it drastically. i prefer win7. the performance improvements of win8 are nice but not groundbreaking and there are some compatibality issues with programs and games in win8 which are pretty much non existant on the more established win7.

if you dont mind dealing with the new interface of win8 then go for it, if you want tried and true pick win7.
