Haven't wanted to play a new game in years.. Stuck with an old system!

Win 7, 64-bit
Mob: ASUS P5K, Bios American Megatrends 0906
CPU: AMD Phenom 9750 Quad core, 2.4
Vid: ATI Radeon HD 5700 1GB
Mem: 6GB, DDR3
PSU: Cooler Master 850W
HDD: ATA 500 GB, 7200 rpm.

Can I spend ~$200 and play Titanfall? I know the 775 socket is obsolete, but if I change mob's then I have to purchase a new copy of Windows and that really blows the budget. Vid card might be suspect too...

Thoughts, opinions, flames??

1st off your using a AMD Phenon CPU and that doesn't run on a Intel 775 socket but an AMD AM2+ socket. It wold be best to upgrade your Motherboard and CPU, and perhaps your RAM. What is your budget for an upgrade? Is the $200 for the game and hardware?

you do not have to buy a new copy of windows when you upgrade USUALLY. sometimes yes, but it kinda depends. also, you can put in your product key for windows online and download a fresh copy to a flash drive, then change mobo/cpu, then instal windows on your hdd. also, you cant play titanfall above medium with that board, maybe not even that. i would suggest you go for a new amd mobo/cpu/ram. if your budget is about $300 or more, go with socket am3+. if it is less than $300, then go with fm2/fm2+ and get an A-8 or A-10.

Sorry for the ambiguity..... $200 just for my parts, then add in shipping and buying the game later. I thought my P5K was a 775. Shows how much I know....

I can't find my Windows disk after a recent move... So if I replace the mob will windows still boot??

all he has to do is change his graphics card. your right, that is the suspect. other cards are like 5 times faster then the one you have. it's just a drop in replacement, drivers, and it's all done. as for which video card, i'm not really an expert on keeping up on what video is the best bang for the buck nor performance, but i do know you need to update that first.

it really is a weak card dude, sorry to say.

you can find your windows key on your current pc. open control panel, go to system/security, then system again, and scroll down. it should say your product key. and can you please post the specs of your old system, and we may be able to upgrade it instead of buy a whole new thing.

For Windows if you bought a Retail version you should have no problem using it again on your system after you upgrade your motherboard provided you can find the key again lol. If it was a OEM version that was installed on your computer that is "married" to the motherboard and if you change that your supposed to get a new O/S.
