I am looking for a $400-$500 gaming build. I already have a harddrive (3.5'', SATA I, Windows 7), monitor, keyboard, mouse.

I don't really know where to start with the CPU/motherboard/video card... if you could make some suggestions for decent reasonably priced components, I can use pcpartpicker to figure out the rest.

I've also noticed that there are some deals on newegg (and elsewhere) where they sell you a built machine and it's a lot cheaper than the sum of the components. I'd do that, except I don't want to waste money buying an extra monitor and storage. But if there's a premade build you'd recommend for this price range, that'd be cool as well.

Thank you!

Can't find some of the components that I want on pcpartpicker.com so I'm just gonna make my own list

CPU: AMD FX-6300 http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009O7YORK Excellent CPU for the budget
Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 R2.0 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... High quality and on sale
Memory: Team Zeus Red 8GB (2 x 4GB) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... It's not a bad RAM, it works just fine.
GPU: GTX 660 http://www.microcenter.com/product/410392/02G-P4-2661-K... Will be able to get you to high on most games
Case: Antec One http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
PSU: EVGA 500B http://www.ncixus.com/products/?usaffiliateid=100003150... It's decent quality for the money

This build totals at $517.74 before tax and after rebate.

If you think it's too expensive, then go with GTX 750 Ti http://www.ncixus.com/products/?usaffiliateid=100003150... And then a higher quality PSU like XFX Core Edition 550W http://www.ncixus.com/products/?usaffiliateid=100003150...

If you want to configure your own:
I would go with an AMD processor without the integrated graphics. The CPUs are quite cheap, and is actually exceptionally performing.
I would go with nVidia GTX 750Ti. Otherwise, AMD is very cheap and good performing.
