my pc desk top do not detect my hard disk on the bios setup?

my hard disk is not detected by the bios on IDE SATA port? and it is not bootable

  1. Make sure it's set to primary drive by jumper, and that it is plugged into the primary drive port/connector.

    Is the drive an IDE or SATA drive? If it is an IDE drive then do as IDontUnderstand suggested and make sure the jumper is set correctly to identify the drive as the master or primary drive.
