I have a dell inspiron 1545 with windows vista plus I have a reinstallation disc for windows vista and windows 7.I get the message activate product key I have a product key that is not accepted plus I get the message this may be an illegal disc.Then I contacted Dell and I am told it is no longer under warranty and told it would cost 129 dollars or to upgrade windows 8.1 also cost over 100 dollars neither am I interested in.Is there anyway to get product ket without such high costs that is also understandasble as I am computer challenged.

You can try calling Microsoft to explain to them and see if they would do anything about it.
