Okay so I recently just got a new SSD. So I reinstalled windows onto it without touching anything on the HDD. So after I finished updating and everything I can access all of my Steam games however when they launch they look for the save files on my SSD and not my HDD where I have the saves. I have deleted Windows on the HDD and was just wondering how I could get steam to correctly launch my saved games from before from the HDD and not create new folders on my SSD. Thank you. If you need further information just ask.

Many games will save to the documents folder.

Tell windows that your documents folder is on the hard drive and see if it helps.

Goto c: \ user \ your login \ documents and right click it and hit properties. Use the location tab to select the matching location on the hard drive should be the same as the normal drive, but just a different letter if you did not remove the Users folder.

Edited to add an image for you.

For games that do not save in the documents folder. You can use junctions or symbolic links to point to a folder on the hard drive, but you would have to do this for each game that does not use the documents folder.

While the guide I am linking to is for...

While the guide I am linking to is for moving software, you can use it to point to the old save games as well. the "new" save game folder on the SSD must be empty and can point to the old hard drive location that has the files. Once done future saves go to the hard drive.
