I accidentally threw away the motherboard CPU socket cover plate on my Ivy Bridge motherboard, and now I need to RMA it. It seems like stores don't carry spares. I've found people selling these on eBay, but from the pictures, it doesn't look like they're all the same. Are there different ones, and I have to make sure to get the right one for my brand of motherboard, or is it likely sellers are just using stock pictures and might not always use the right picture?

Does anyone have any ideas for a better/safer way of getting a replacement cover plate? I haven't contacted the manufacturer yet to ask.

Solution
As long as it is the same LGA(socket, but lga is more accurate) it should fit, but yeah, I would either see about getting a cross ship for your board then the new board will have a cover you can place on the old on OR just contact the board maker and see what they want for one.

5 dollars to save the RMA is not a bad deal.

Take pictures of the LGA before and then again with the cover on before RMAing just in case things go wrong. I have hear horror stories of companies saying that the cover was not used or that the LGA was damaged on arrival.
