My computer is idling very high at much higher temps because of Microsoft Resource File To COFF Object Conversion Utility. The only help I can find about it is people saying theirs stopped working, yet I can't get mine to stop as I want. As soon as I open task manager however, that process ends and it goes back to idling at around 1%. Also, as soon as I close task manager it starts right back up making it hard to accurately take temps and stress test to overclock. Just reset my CMOS so all the bios settings are the originals. Here is a screen shot of it - http://puu.sh/7vNyx

Hi there!

From what you have described there is a piece of malware hiding out somewhere, most likely in your temp folder on your main drive, that is hogging your system resources possibly as part of a bot network which it then sends back to a server somewhere. Following the instructions below should help clean it out. Please let me know how this goes.

First of all start your machine in safe mode with networking. Open a browser and go here http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/?_ga=1.80851223.1077792167.1394874333 it is one of the best virus scanners I've ever used. Run it and follow all on screen prompts, if it takes a while be patient. If it tells you it has found something you will be given the option to remove it so go ahead and do that. Once that has run I need you to do the following:

Go to My Computer > right click your main drive, usually C: > go to properties > click the General Tab > under the pie chart click Disk Cleanup > when the pop up appears select ALL the check boxes and run the cleanup.

Once this is done come back and let me know how things are going. If it hasn't solved the issue we'll take it from there. And don't panic!!
