Basically, I have a MSI GTX 650 OC 2gb. It works really well on all games I ask of it. But for F1 2013 it does awful. In theory it should be able to run this game at 60 fps on medium or high. But it runs at under 15fps on Ultra Low, and is basically unplayable. It will go through periods where it runs at 30fps but it is still unacceptable for this type of card. Any suggestion on how to fix this? These are my specs:

CPU: i3-530 2.93ghz
GPU: Nvidia MSI 650 OC 2gb
RAM: 6 GB

Solution

the cpu is pretty weak but it should stille be playable ever tried to update your drivers from nvidia to te newest beta ones?

No I haven't update the drivers yet I will try that now. The card is only 3 months old and the temps are always under 60C so it can't be that. My screen is 1920x1080 but that shouldn't be a problem either.

I hope the drivers work for you

I had been getting lots of bsod every time I was racing which was down to a usb network driver which was out of date. So it wouldn't surprise me if it is the drivers again.

yeah i had problems with my hd 7870 to glitching in assasins creed 2 and by just upgradin the drivers it fixed the issue

Although it is better, it still goes through stages where the frame rate just drops to 15fps for no apparent reason and stays there for a while. And if it is running in the background the rest of my computer struggles even though I have about half my ram left, and my cpu is at around 25%. I'm typing this but it takes a few seconds for the text to appear after I type it out, just because I have f1 running in the background.

I think its your cpu really even tho it doesn't show thats its very active but it could also be your gpu as that is the thing that shows you this text.

I know my cpu isn't amazing and I would upgrade it but because of the type of motherboard I have I can't get a cpu which is worth buying as any upgrade would be small, so I would need a new motherboard as well. Thanks for your help anyway :)

look the intel core i 5 750 or 760 up on ebay (can't remember the exact number) they go there for like 50- 70€ and are at least dubble your cpu's power

Thanks, I was thinking of getting a new motherboard anyway since it will open up more cpu's to choose from as all the ones I can have are second hand. Cause I'm working with a small budget all the time I've been looking at Intel Core i5 4440 at £128 and a Gigabyte B85-HD3 Motherboard which is £48. Does that seem reasonable? I just wanted to keep my options open in the future.

Why not go amd an fx 6300 is 100€ - 110€ and a motherboard is 50e and it will preforma the same / better and its super overlockable even with the stock coller yu can add like 300 mhz
