4th Gen Ci5 or 3rg Gen Ci3

Hey!
Guys I'm out to buy a laptop and I pretty much finalised on 2 laptops having the following configuration :
4gb DDR3 RAM
750GB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce GT 720M 2gb Dedicated Graphics

But what brought me here is that, there is only a single difference between these 2 laptops, one is having Intel Core i5 (4th Generation) 4200U processor and the other one is having Intel Core i3 (3rd Generation) processor. And hence the pricing difference between them is of INR 5K.

Although I'm more inclined towards Intel Core i5 (4th Generation) (link to the laptop : http://www.flipkart.com/asus-x550lc-xx039d-laptop-4th-gen-ci5-4gb-750gb-dos-2gb-graph/p/itmdrjhyegcmrb9b) , but would it be of any advantage?

And also My laptop usage would be mostly software developing and mild gaming.

If you're going to game or surf, Intel Core i5 laptop isn't worth the money. Although, I wouldn't game on neither of those, unless you're going to play Source games like Counter-Strike: Source, which is ridiculously fun and isn't graphically demanding.

The i5 is a true quad core, but at only 1.6 Ghz, it's not very fast...

I would take the i5, it's the newer chip. The i3 is older. That videocard is OK, but it's not going to run games nearly as well as any desktop you can get for that money.

For serious software developing and gaming, Desktop is your only real option.

Hey man, thanks for replying. Actually, desktop isn't really an option as mobility is a serious issue for me. And unfortunately I'm on a tight budget to consider laptops with higher configs. I'm no expert, but from what I've read, I could only figure a small difference between the chips i.e. the 4th gen chips boost the performance just by 5%. So, would it be worth it if I spend those extra 5k bucks for it?
