I need help for purchasing a laptop or desktop for my sister

Hi my sister is currently looking for a new laptop or desktop, she's leaning towards a laptop but she said she will look at suggestions towards a desktop. At first she was leaning towards a macbook but I insisted getting a PC laptop. Her budget is $600- $1000 but the lower the price the better. She's going to be using it mainly for web browsing and minor photo editing but also wanted to play some games(Sims 3, 4).

Agreed with Beard, but I say go for a PC with that budget, you'll do a lot better. That being said if she wants it just to supplement phone (eg sling in a backpack and over to a friend's house) then go with some nice cheap $300 Toshiba, reliable little buggers, and nice keyboard/trackpad.

You mainly want to look into a windows laptop or desktop. You can't buy an Apple product with that amount of money. Just look at wether you want it to be portable or not .. If yes, go for laptop. If not go for a desktop. As easy as that..
