For general info. I have multiple 3TB and 4TB WD Mybook drives purchased recently. Had two failures and sought help from WD. No luck and advice to go for 3rd party data recovery option. Way too expensive. Long story short story sent my HDD PCB to mob in Canada and had revived version returned and it worked. Claimed from WD for cost (USD75.00) but advised bad luck, not interested which was same as before. Great result no thanks to WD.

For anyone else who might read this; please remember that important files should never be stored in just one place/device. Even $20 worth of dvd's to backup data would save you money when a drive fails.

Sorry for your loss rjbahnsen but you managed to get your files back and relatively cheap too.
