I have M5A97 motherboard, Asus EAH6850 graphic card, and Phenom II x6 1055t cpu. My power supply is enough for now but i'm thinking to buy ASUS R9-270x and i don't know if my psu is enough. I also know that R9-270 requires lower power than 270x and i don't know what to do. I want 270x version from ASUS, but looks like there's not a huge difference between 270 and 270x versions so i can also buy R9-270 instead of 270x if my PSU is not sufficient. I'm not thinking to do Crossfire etc. i mean i'll just use ONE gpu. My current system is fully overclocked and still everything works great. CPU from 2.8 to 3.3, GPU from 790 gpu clock to 900 and memory from 1000mhz to 1100mhz. I'm not thinking to overclock the new R9. And i don't wanna buy new psu because of my low budget. I need a professional help :)
My whole system is:

Thermaltake V3 (with the 600 watt Thermaltake LP-600AL2NH psu)
M5A97 (not 2.0 and not evo, pro etc.)
AMD Phenom II x6 1055t 2.8ghz (currently 3.3ghz overclocked)
Kingston HyperX 2x4gb 1600mhz DDR3 (Dual-Channel)
ASUS EAH 6850 790mhz/1000mhz (4000mhz effective) but currently 900mhz/1100mhz
1X 1TB SeaGate HDD
1X ASUS DVD-RW
6X 120mm blue led fan for cooling
1X Creative VX 5.1
1X ASUS PCE-N10

Note : I have never had any problems with my PSU so far.

Exactly your current card already is using the two six pin connectors, so it will work.

Quoting ko888's post

" For a system using a single AMD Reference Design Radeon R9 270X graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater system power supply. The power supply should also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 30 Amps or greater and have at least two 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors".

As long as your PSU meets these requirements you should be fine.

"6-pin PCI Express Connector X 1" it says, but i have x2 6-pin (at least 2) because my ASUS EAH 6850 requires 2x 6-pin PCI express connector and uses 2x 6-pin currently. I'm sorry but i'm paranoid for my whole system because of the low budget and i don't wanna waste my money :) Thanks for all answers

Thanks for the quick answers. I'll go and buy ASUS R9-270x next week. If anything happens bad, i'll keep up with my EAH 6850 and save money for a new psu which will be corsair and minimum 650 watt, but i'm sure my current 600watt psu will handle 270x easily. Thank you again :)
