Windows can't deal with new hardware!

Hi there.

So I've just installed a new motherboard and CPU. I started up the computer and it came to a screen before starting windows telling me its detected a new CPU and that I can configure the system. However I only had my USB keyboard plugged and I needed to restart before it would detect my non-usb keyboard.

However this has completely screwed me over and now I'm stuck in a windows startup repair loop that accomplishes nothing.

How can I get back to the initial screen or just progress from here??

Any help is appreciated!

What 'launchable file'? An exe?
You can use that to create a bootable DVD or USB. Run it, and early in the process it will give the option of "Install later". It will then download the necessary bits to create a DVD.

But you HAVE to do it on a PC of the same architecture....64bit or 32bit.

I heard that this wasn't technically necessary. I have windows 8.1 on my hard drive so I was hoping to install it from there.

So how do I get back to the bios so I can actually do this? I assume I'll have to do it from disk.

I downloaded 8.1 which gave me an executable file. I assumed I could just run this. So are you saying I'll need to burn that onto a CD and then run it from the BIOS.
