I need to replace the motherboard in my Gateway FX6840-03 and I am looking for direction on what motherboard will work?

If you don't get the exact same motherboard and your still running the original (OEM) OS, it will not run, OEM's (HP, Dell, Garteway) tie their OEM OS to their motherboards, A new mobo is considered a new computer. Best to use Ebay to find one, or contact Gateway.
