Can I just plug and play this upgrade if I already have the nvidia geforce driver software installed? What do you recommend?

The most complete way to uninstall drivers is to use the windows uninstaller to uninstall all the components (graphics driver, physx etc) and then use a bit of software called driverfusion to clear up any bits left behind.

Also make sure that you have enough power for your new card.

Ty very much, I have a 600w psu, already used the calculator and made sure I had enough for the new card and a 125w cup if I upgrade :)

So the answer is if you are using the Nvidia Geforce experience, do NOT uninstall drivers. Let them be. It ended up being more of a headache to uninstall, and when I finished it ended up being the EXACT same drivers and software :p

ofc the drivers are the same release but there might be configuration differences for different cards. and i think you are kinda late

install the 780, seat it "carefully", dont forget the power pins..... then go download the latest nvidia beta drivers 337.50 then use display driver uninstaller....

when it asks to reboot into safe mode let it. once finished, then install the latest betas and have fun.
