Because i thought that the xeon would be better than a I7 for performance and speed and everything besides its cool to say i have a xeon, but if the I7 will be better than the xeon then i might get the I7

ah i just checked the zeon is actually cheaper lol. your build looks fine since you want the cool factor which is....hehe cool. performance wise they are equivalent to each other. so no worries

your graphics card your getting the 600 series gtx, why not the 700 series? also the new 800 series will be released sometime this year if you can wait

The Xeon processor is a server processor. For a price in the lower 200's you can get an I5-4770. The best I7's are maybe better but not by much. This is a K processor and is overclockable. Go with a gtx 760 it will cost more than the 660. It is newer technology and a better performer.

yeah that's true for gaming you dont need much more than an i5, but i think he just wants the i7 in general he may be doing more than gaming he is buying 16GB of memory also

Thanks for all the reply's, yes i would agree that going with the 1245V3 Xeon would be the better option, and also the newer GTX700 series GPU's, sadly i already have a case because i have another computer and i transferred it into my new case thinking it would last for a little longer and then it died causing me to use a crappy computer until i can get this one built, the case i currently have is a NZXT GAMMA and was only 40$ so i'm not really complaining about the price and it looks great with the LED's that it has. The reason for the 16GB of memory is because someone recommended to me to not go lower than 8GB's of memory using a xeon and it will provide better performance and i love speed i hate slow computers, i've heard that even with higher frequency's on memory like 1866 using Intel CPU's they don't achieve faster than a normal 1600 clock speed for memory. Also i know that the CPU cooler i have chosen is really cool but i was wondering since i know xeons get hot would water cooling bet a better option? and i wanted the xeon because this computer is gonna have to last me a long time and i have worked on xeon workstations before and they were amazing causing me to want to get a xeon of my own. Just to let you guys know i will be using this for gaming, school work, music, netflix, and doing networking jobs around my house and stuff like that. Sorry it took me so long to reply, my email wasn't showing that i got reply's so i thought i just better log on and check!
