Wireless network adapter driver problem

Hi,

I have just installed Windows Vista 32bit on my Asus laptop. I have encountered an error with connecting to the internet. It gives me the following error: "This computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured".

Please note that my laptop is the Asus X45H which originally had Windows 7 64bit installed. I bought the laptop second hand so it did not come with a Windows 7 installation disk unfortunately. I've tried downloading the driver on the Asus website but the driver downloads do not suppost Vista as the laptop is supposed to be W7. Please help, greatly appreciate it.

Looks like it has an Atheros wifi chip. You may find a vista driver on the Atheros site.

Hi, what I don't understand, you have a laptop with Windows 7 64 bit with all the drives for it and you downgrade to Windows Vista 32 bit which is not supported by Asus. And you have some problems with your laptop.

Yes it was on Windows 7 but then a friend downloaded XP in a different language while he was using my laptop but now that he's gone, I wanted a English OS so I installed Vista.

If you install Windows 7 on it, you can download all the right drivers for the laptop, and you also have the Windows 7 product key under the laptop to activate Windows.

You choose the Windows 7 x64 (Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate) you have on the product key from here : http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads.12325/
You put the ISO on a USB key and install on the laptop.
After you go to Asus site to download the drivers.
