motherboard compatibility with the PSLP-LE?

Solution
hmmm, i'm not sure but i think it would fit/work. i tried looking up the manual on the Asus site and couldn't find it. that is an inherent problem with store bought pc's they tend to derivate and do their own thing. how much is the processor you are intending to purchase?

being that it says "6x00" and the processor you want is "6850" it doesn't match because of the 5. so why not the e6700 instead?

i think that one will fit, i'd try that instead of the 6850

Yeah I was originally looking for an e6700 but they are way more expensive than the e6850. I have no clue why because the e6850 is supposed to be more powerful. I am trying to put together a PC out of scavenged parts and I want something better than the Pentium D that's in there now because I also have a 8800GTX graphics card I got from a neighbor. Maybe the e6700 cpu's are more expensive because the e6850 is not as compatible with most stock motherboards; just a hunch.

What about the e6600.. Will that still be fine with the 8800 GTX?
