My Computer Sometimes Doesn't Boot

Hello i bought this computer a while ago and its been great to me, the only problem is that sometimes when i press the power button everything starts but the fans sound a little bit quiet and there is no output image. If that happens i have to force stop the computer and try to turn it on again. Sometimes it takes me 3-4 tries but i don't know whats wrong. Once i press the power button and i can hear the fans go louder thats when i know that its going to output image.. Anyone know what can be the problem? I have put it under windows cause i thought windows might be causing the issue.

Hi

If nothing comes on screen when it fails to boot this is a hardware issue NOT Windows

Before opening case disconnect from mains & take antistatic precautions

If you have both a reset button and a power button try swapping the connections on the motherboard incase it is a faulty power switch

Other possibilities are bad connection of the 24pin connector to motherboard or the 4 pin ATX plug which has black & yellow wires (or if modern or powerful PC this is a 8 pin plug)

check PCI-e 12V plug to graphics card
(if you have a graphics card, again black & yellow wires)

If that fails follow Diagnostic FAQ at

Sounds like a failing ram slot. Remove a stick if you have more than one ram module however a computer without any ram should cause the motherboard to give warning beeps which in this case is good beeps to hear.
