I/O shield problem - need opinions

My i/o shield contacts are meeting only about half my ports in a new build. It's some incompatiability with my case and motherboard, I think, because all the standoffs are correctly aligned. It concerns me beause my whole house is carpeted and I frequently shock things.

Is this enough of an issue that I should remove my whole motherboard and bend back these tabs? I'd hate to do that, but seems inevitable.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

The tabs on the i/o shield are what keep your motherboard grounded and protected from static shock, which can short out the whole MB. I'm saying only about half of my metal tabs are touching the ports they're supposed to be touching.

Ahh got you. Well really it should be just fine I've done some builds(old parts into HTPC) without an I/O shield at all. For the piece of mind you might want to bend the tabs out but you shouldn't need to.
