Which CPU should I pick?

So I am going to be building my very first pc and I want it to be a gaming/workstation one. I will be playing mainly fps, rpg, and horror games. For the workstation end I will be using Adobe applications and VMware workstation ( I also really want to try and make a gaming YouTube channel with clips from my gameplays so might use Sony Vegas). Originally I was going to go with the Intel i5 4670k because I figured I didn't need a top of the line i7 4770k because I am patient and can wait for things to happen as long as they don't ridiculous waiting periods. But than I noticed that the game Watchdogs is said that the recommended specs is an 8 core cpu and if this game is jumping on that who's to say most games wont jump on 8 core recommended specs also. Also with starting a YouTube channel and using adobe applications and possibly Sony Vegas I do know that having 8 cores or a hyper threaded 4core is going to help but by how much and will it be worth it for a first build and just starting a YouTube channel? So than I looked into the AMD FX 8350 black edition because its within my price range and has the 8 cores that could help me in the long run, I can afford the i7 if needed to but than I would have to wait to get the extra $100 that I need for it. So my main question here is which cpu should I go with than? Should I stick with the i5? Change to amd? or save up a $100 and go for the i7? Also I noticed that the amd cpu does take more wattage to run so does that mean that it is going to run hotter I'm guessing? Because I would like my build to at least last me a while. Here is the link to everything I have as of now (with the i5 setup, and yes I understand if I get an amd I need to change out the mobo) http://pcpartpicker.com/p/38QSK . Thank you for all the help and sorry this was such a long post but I do believe I have said everything I needed to. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions please let me know.

Typically I would tell you to go intel, especially for gaming, but seeing as how you are building a work station I would recommend going with either the amd fx 8350 or 8320. You will benefit from the extra cores. The single core performance is less, but you can get it closer with a good cooler and overclocking.

AMD and Intel both make good CPUs. For desktops I would lean to go with Intel.
I really like AMD for laptops because there integrated GPUs are very good.

I would save the money for the i7!
For only $100 more the i7 is much better. (See links)

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-4770K+%40+3.50GHz (i7)

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i5-4670K+%40+3.40GHz (i5)

You also get more GHZ with the i7. The i7 has a much better benchmark score.
For $100 it is worth it. The i7 also has more cach.
In time when games get more intensive you will be glad you have an i7.
Sooner or later you will upgraded to the i7 anyway.
The i5 is fine, but for only $100 more the i7 is much better.
I understand not wanting to wait for the CPU. I'm having to wait for a good GPU and it is no fun. :) LOL
