Which ram is better Corsair Dominator Platinum or G. Skill? For most people 32GB is overkill but I am running a server with lots of people on it so it would definitely be useful. Which would be better performing and run at cooler temps? The upside on the G. Skill ones is that they have the fan but I am not sure if it is to good performing. I am running a custom wc loop for my cpu, and gpu so if I could wc one of those sets of ram that would be great but I am not sure what ram block I would need. Any suggestions?
Thanks :).

Of those two, the G.Skill is faster. BUT.....I own Corsair Dominator Platinum memory. The actual kit number that I have is listed on my "signature" at the bottom of this post. You will hear people say that DP memory is overpriced and a whole lot of other crap. But it is reviewed to be the best memory available. Each stick is hand screened before it ever leaves Corsair. And MAN it looks good in the case!
Is there any reason that you want 32 GB? That's an INSANE amount of RAM. A good gaming computer right now only needs about 8 GB of RAM. I went with 16 GB just to "future proof" a bit. My only regret is not getting faster RAM. My kit is 1866Mhz. As you go up in speed, so does the price. SHARPLY up. If you have any questions, hit me. I'll help any way I can. Here is an article on RAM amount size as well. It should help you out. :)

He's putting in a server :)

Ooooook. Makes sense now. Yeah....I can see a server needing 32GB. I thought it was a desktop application. My 16GB is way more than enough for anything that I do. That's why 32 GB caught my attention the way it did.

One more thing I'll point out that is a plus for the Dominator Platinum. I spoke with a Corsair rep who flat told me that cooling wasn't even an issue with the Dominator Platinum.....overclocked or not due to their patented DHX cooling. The site explains a bit on it:

The Tridents and Dominator options both look great. Which will run cooler? Cooling is a big issue for me because the room where my pc is in is always really hot. Also the tridents you posted are 1.6v I am looking for something that is 1.5v for compatibility reasons.

Thanks for the suggestions :).

I am using I7-3820 and Asus Sabertooth X79. This is exactly what it says

"G.Skill Trident X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-2133 Memory operating voltage of 1.6V exceeds the Intel Sandy Bridge-E CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum."
I also checked the motherboard memory compatibility and it says that it supports a maximum of only 1866 while this memory is 2133. I am assuming that if it exceeds the maximum of the motherboard it will automatically lower its clock speeds. If it does turn out compatible than it would be my top choice.

For whatever reason, Asus lists 1866 as the max freq on all the Sabertooths in the Intel stable, the P67, Z77, and even the newest Z87 models, yet they all have XMP support on in to the higher freqs....Also Partpicker, looks at Intel CPUs and their default suggested DRAM which is the native 1600/1.5 as 'recommended' thus anything over 1.575 get flagged (also interesting is that Intel actually provides certification service on DRAM with the higher (up though 1.65) DRAM voltages, including on 1600 sticks. Basically they are taking what builders have long known - that No, Intel CPUs aren't limited to 1333 or 1600 and 1.5 and turning that into yet another moneymaker for them by charging DRAM makers to 'certify' that their DRAM will run on Intel under XMP ;)

Whenever I made my build I went with 1866Mhz largely in part because of reading similar articles. I have hence talked to many people who have been 100% successful in faster than the than that though.
