So I run into this problem very often with Crysis 3. I have noticed drops in Max Payne 3 too but after a long time playing. Anyways, Problem is that it doesn't matter what settings I'm running at it's always the same FPS with the same drops. Any thoughts?

Basically this is what's going on with my frame rate:

Solution
Crysis 3 is a cpu killer. You need the top of the line cpus to not get these hiccups.
That being said it is most definitely your CPU is bottlenecking GPU (fix this by overclocking I really don't think you need a huge overclock maybe just by a few hundred mhz), Then I see that you have a 1200w psu which is totally unnecessary for your current build. I was going to say it has something to do with your psu but just in these two games then it must be your cpu.
I might be totally wrong about it being the cpu. I would try playing around with the drivers first, there might be something with that.
Also could you post your exact psu.

Ok so how is it that this happens at any graphical settings? By the way, this in Max Payne 3 is extremely odd to happen. In Crysis 3 it seems like everytime is loading background or something does this. Any thoughts?

Crysis 3 is a hardware intensive game and I saw in some benchmarks that the minimum frames of an AMD processor went way below the intel processors so definitely your CPU is bottlenecking the GPU.

To exactly describe the problem basically I'm staring at a certain place, frames drop from 50-70 to 15fps,. And then after some 5 seconds or so frames go back up to 50 - 70 again.

And of course drivers are all up to date. Im virus free. I don't know what else could it be. Could somebody explain me why this is happening at any settings? And my hdtv resolution is just 1280x720 btw.

Yup that is what exactly I m talking about I encountered these problems on some benchmarks & from my view, your GPU is absolutely secure and thats why I told you that your CPU is bottlenecking.Anyways what clocks are you running the X6

have you tried altering or changing your depth of field? Been a while since I played Crysis 3 , but I know that has been a killer for me in a couple of games. Borderlands 2 I was struggling with framerates dropping to 15-30 in some areas on crossfired 7970's. I went into the program and changed depth of field to =false and i played the whole rest of the game averaging about 120 fps. it seems that in certain areas (looking out windows etc..) that this might help. Just a thought.

Hello again guys, I fixed the issue. So first of all I cleaned some dust on the cooler, that helped me avoid frame drops in games like max payne 3. Anyways, the solution for Crysis 3 was to get into the bios, and disable settings that made my processor work slower. Like CPU Throttling and some other. Now Crysis maxed out including antialising runs very nicely at 40fps+ with 720p. Thanks for your help.
