Hi, i have written an extremely simple batch to convert any mp4 files to avi (Windows media player doesn't recognize all mp4 files for some reason)
all i need is for this batch to affect the files in its current folder plus any subfolders.

can anyone provide the code to do this please?

thanks

I'm not trying to change the codec. All i need is to change the file extension. By doing this Windows media player recognises the files and plays them no problem. I norm use kmplayer to watch movies on the pc, but to watch them on my Xbox I need to use wmplayer library unfortunately.

So is there no way to make this affect subfolders? I cant specify the directory as the folder name is unknown until it has been downloaded.

Thanks for the reply

Thanks, but this was actually quite a few months ago. And since doing a fresh install of windows, media player seems to be recognising mp4's now.

Although as stated above I was not trying to change the format by a lengthy conversion process. Only trying to change the extension ( eg. Renaming the file from mp4 to avi) to trick media player.
