Test a CPU

Solution
If the CPU has pins then check if any pins are bent, broken or dirty, if the CPU has no pins then look at the contacts on the bottom and see if there are any odd looking marks or if it is dirty.

If it is dirty, try cleaning the CPU with cleaning alcohol or just a clean cloth.

If any pins are broken then send the CPU back to the place you bought it from as this will most likely prevent the CPU from working (or it might not depending on which pin broke off), if they are bent then try to gently pry them back to their normal position.

To actually test their functionality then you will have to install it into a compatible motherboard to see if the CPU is stable or produces errors while testing.
