How big of a psu do I need for crossfire r9 270's they have one six pin each so I thought my 500 watt might be enough it's a corsair but I'm not positive

Solution
It's not only about the PCI-E power connectors, it's also about whether the PSU has enough wattage on it's 12V rail. You would want a PSU with a 12V of at least 30A. Usually a 650W PSU can handle it.
Option 1 - Check reviews like Guru3D

This is Guru3D's generic power supply recommendation for the R7 and R9 series:

AMD R9 270 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 500 Watt power supply unit.
AMD R9 270 Crossfire - On your average system the cards require you to have a 700 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

AMD R9 270X - On your average system the card requires you to have a 500 Watt power supply unit.
AMD R9 270X Crossfire - On your average system the cards require you to have a 700 Watt power supply unit as minimum.
If you are going to overclock GPU or processor, then we do recommend you purchase something with some more stamina.

Option 2 - Use a reputable PSU calculator

So 700 watts if ya not overclocking

Who knows ? It says it's 800 watts, but no name brands when tested often fail to deliver rated voltage. The EVGA B2 750 would be more than enough ... it's currently $50 over here after a nice rebate. This one is quite decent and given the fact that it is twice the price of the one you linked to, I like the one you linked to even less.
