I can run Battlefield 4 smoothly at 1600x900 no anti aliasing, all on medium except for quality effects and mesh quality on ultra.

Not entirely true. Gw2 cant handle itself easily(at times).
With that resolution you should be able to hold +30 FPS in open world PVE on high graphics settings.
The problem will come when you get around lots of people(WvW zergs,Dragon events,populated towns).Even the mightiest of computers will struggle(15-30fps) in large 3-way zerg fights no matter the settings.
The most important thing for Gw2 is strong single thread performance. Overclocking that i3 will yield the most if you arent happy with your FPS.

I dont think it can be overclocked since it's not unlocked
