I have a stable clock of 4.4GHz at 1.248V cooling with a hyper 212 evo, but the temps are creeping up into the high 70's/low 80's under full load which is a little too high for my liking so i've been looking into relatively cheap water cooling options to hopefully bring the temps down about 10C if possible. I don't have any extra fans, so the fans that it comes with would be the fans that I'd use so with H80i I could do push/pull and with the H100i I could only do one or the other. So my questions are, would it be worth the extra $25 it is right now on newegg to go for the H100i for my situation, are there other cooling options that would be better, or would I not even see much of a difference with liquid cooling compared to what I have now if I'm not willing to spend more than $100-$120 or so?

EDIT: Also I'm currently only running the one stock fan on the heatsink for the 212 evo.

I'd get the H80i if you don't want to break the bank. The H100i is excellent at cooling but loud as hell. Everyone with an ear replaces the fans with quieter ones. This costs an additional $25-30. So, when thinkng about the H100i you should think about that too.

As for H80i. It's an excellent cooler as is, and will easily fit in cases. And yes you will see a difference in cooling.

btw, adding a second fan to the CM Evo will only help reduce by 2C, so you are better off with H80i.

Do you have other case fans? What's your mobo?

i have a h100i with a push pull fan setup, and unfortunately, adding the extra fans didnt reduce temps at all.

Mobo: Gigabyte UD3H
Case: Corsair 400r
It has the stock 120mm rear, 2X120mm front, I also purchased 2 corsair sp120's, one is intake on the bottom, the other is exhaust on the back top. I could use those two fans for push/pull with the h100i, but then I would hardly have any intake, especially since the the stock front fans don't seem to move much air past the drive bay.

Also I don't think there would be room above the ram for push pull with the h100i

Good mobo and case. You could replace the H100i fans with the sp ones. Then install on top of case so the fans act like exhaust. I think that's a really good solution.

Corsair case fans are just ok. I had to add a Noctua 140mm to front to help airflow in my 300R. You could just add a H80i to rear.

Still not exactly sure what I'm going to get, I'm leaning towards the h100i so I can have a lot of exhaust out the top using the sp's on it that I have right now and using the two fans it comes with as intake from at or near the bottom of the case, but I'm not planning on getting anything until after this finals week anyway so I don't have any distractions. Hopefully the sale lasts a few or more days.

Good luck on finals and good call on waiting. You don't need this distraction now. I'm just grateful I built my system after college. It would have been a huge distraction during school.
