Can I use windows 8

I have Inte(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo E4600 2.40 GHz, 2 GB DDR2.
I'm using windows xp. is my computer is compatible with windows 8

You can check on individual components for Windows 8 driver, especially GPU to see whether it's supported or not. Other than that, I don't see a reason for it to not work since it's a software and the bridge in between any software and hardware is the driver. Therefore, if the driver exist and work, Windows 8 will be compatible.

windows 8 had alot of driver compatability issues. alot of people are migrating win 8 back to win 7 these days. i recommend just upgradeing to win 7.

Nothing will prevent you from the installation unless some hardware is malfunctioning. With the said, the system will work right after installation and you will be able to use it by then, not all the drivers need to be installed and Windows usually does the job of installing most drivers anyway. If there's really no driver for your system, then there's usually a way out by using compatibility mode or some other generic driver.
You will be fine, most likely.
