Hi Guys ,

I am from India.Can you please suggest a nice gaming PC configuration around 50k budget ?

Purchase Date : In next 2 months
System usage : Primarily for games

I am planning to hook up the PC to my TV. So , I don't need any monitors or speakers for the configuration.No need new keyboard or new mouse.

Also , What's the advantage of i7 over i5 ?

I currently have a 5 year old PC which is running fine but I want much better graphics and CPU performance :
-Core 2 Duo Quad Q9450
-4GB DDR3 RAM
-ATI 4670 HD Card 512MB

Solution
i5 4670k LGA1150 =>around 16k
MSI Z87 G41 => about 9k
(always get a Z87 mobo as it is particularly for gaming and overclocking, otherwise it will be a waste of money to buy a K-series CPU)
Asus Radeon R9 280x DirectCUii TOP OC 3GB DDR5 => about 27k
If you want a cheaper card,
Sapphire Radeon R9 270x 2GB DDR5 =>about 16k

Crosair VS650 =>about 4k

There you have it. A gaming rig under 50k
Look for that parts at your local stores

i7 vs i5
you'll get faster CPU performance from Core i7 parts than Core i5. The majority of desktop Core i7 CPUs are quad-core processors, while many mobile Core i5 processors are dual-core. This is not always the case, as there are mobile dual-core Core i7 processors, and likewise several desktop quad-core Core i5 processors. Then of course you'll see the rare six-core Core i7, which are usually found with the desktop-only Extreme Edition top-of-the-line models.

Core i7 processors have larger cache (on-board memory) to help the processor deal with repetitive tasks faster. If you're editing and calculating spreadsheets, your CPU shouldn't have to reload the framework the numbers sit in

all Core i7 CPUs use Hyper-Threading, so a six-core CPU can handle 12 streams, a four core handles eight streams, and a dual-core handles four streams. Core i5 uses Hyper-Threading to make a dual-core CPU act like a four-core one, but if you have a Core i5 processor with four true cores, it won't have Hyper-Threading.

Hope you buy online. (all prices from flipkart (FK),snap deal (SD))

What's the advantage of i7 over i5 ?

i7 has Hyper threading which will help in highly threaded works like video rendering. If you purely into gaming i5 is enough.

What Ahmadjon suggested is good. But if you are not into overclocking you can go with non-k CPU/H87 and add the extra money to buy a better video card. Also if you are buying a unlocked CPU and going to OC don't forget to buy a aftermarket CPU cooler too..

Few questions: 1 do you need an mouse keyboard combo?

2: what resolution is your monitor or tv?

3: what is your precise region? (am from India too)

4: Would you prefer an intel or amd build?

5: Have you ever built a system by yourself and/ do have experience with PCs

6: What exactly will you use it for rendering, photoshop, pure gaming, and also LAN gaming?

7: Would you prefer a compact case?

8: Can you bump up your budget?

1.Not necessary

2.1080p (+Passive 3D supported)

3.South India (A.P)

4.No preference

5.I can talk to someone for assembling these parts , like a technician who works in our office

6.Gaming , Media consumption and Simulation/Programming tools (multisim , vhdl/model sim/Xilinx , AutoCAD , MATLab , AVR Studio etc.)

7.Not necessarily but I am not sure if compact case is good for ventilation of the system , I have decent space to fit large case too (preferably taller one rather than wider one)

8.Yes , I can bump another 10-15k (but only if it is worth , for example last time when I chose system , I made sure that I bought DDR3 RAM rather than DDR2.I can add 2 more GB RAM and give it to my bro or use system in office instead of buying new one there)

I also would seriously suggest you go for the Vapor-X OC version of the GPU if it comes at your price range otherwise this one would be good enough plus would be able to overclock it.

If it's still too much for you then get a cheaper mobo or cut down on just 1x4 gb ram also could cut down to just 1TB HDD. But I wouldn't recommend.

Reminder: You can get a different micro atx cabinet if you want at similar price just make sure the GPU fits in it. I recommend Corsair carbide 200R.

Also I have selected a modular power supply wich means you'll have extra space to move your stuff around. If you don't want that or rather don't need that go for a non modular (which will be cheaper). Make sure that whoever assembles your computer does it very carefully and take your time.

PS: Make sure to buy the RAM twice.
