HD with data retention time at leat 50 years

Would it not be possible for hd manufacturers to develop a hd with a data retention time of at least 50 years without being connected to any power source.
At the moment there is no way to save digital data such as photos, music ... safely.
So mister Samsung, Seagate or others can you please help me.

Not really. For starters, it would become obsolete almost instantly. I mean, look at IDE. Designed in 1986, but thoroughly obsolete and can't even be read by modern computers.

SATA won't last too long. SATA Express is here, and we'll probably go straight to PCIe drives before too long.
