Hi guys and girls,

Thanks for taking the time to answer this question!

I really want to get into PC gaming, as it's clear what the benefits are over console. Also, its PCs and hardware etc, are actually quite interesting.

I want to buy a gaming desktop, and my limit would be about £440. I have a few in mind, but a friend has given me this desktop http://www.johnlewis.com/hp-pavilion-500-210ea-desktop-...

My plan is to use this system as a base setup, and buy these following parts:
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Danbuscus250/saved/43yz
CPU Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core £161.99
CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing £25.44
Video Card EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB £193.05
Power Supply XFX 550W ATX12V / EPS12V £44.98
Total: £425.46

Few more questions:
1. Will this actually WORK? Are all the components capable with each other, and obviously this would include the case on the HP.
2. Will this be a reliable system? One thing I hate in life is unreliable products.
3. Will anything be changed in terms of software? I only ask because I don't actually know whether my friend will eventually want this pc back (it was offered because this laptop is dying haha). Clearly he may be upset if I changed any of the software.
4. What kind of settings can I be running on it exactly? Games I will be playing include:
Fifa
Skyrim
Battlefield
Crysis
Titanfall probably
Call of Duty

Cheers for the help guys! Any advice on anything will be really appreciated, thanks!

it might work, depending on the motherboard your planning on using, and the amount of room inside the case, the pc comes with a haswell i3 so upgrading to a 4670k will work fine, however i cant see what graphics it uses so you should check there is a pci-e x16 lane.

and i know personally the cases from pre built systems are usually quite compact so the hyper 212 may not fit inside, and you may also have problems with a full length gtx 760.

so really this will work fine aslong as you can check the graphics card length and width will fit, and that it has the right slot, plus that the hyper 212 will fit
