Hi,

I've got a Fractal R4 case, HDD, SSD, Windows 8.1 and Monitor. These are left over from a recent build and I want to reuse them in a gaming machine.

I have a £450 budget for CPU (plus cooler if needed), MB, RAM, GPU and a new PSU.

I'm looking to play BF4 at high settings at 1080p and maybe elderscrollsonline. There is no need to future proof anything as I prefer to replace every couple of years. Secondary to being able to game at moderate settings I like it to be nice and quiet.

I've got some ideas of my own but would be interested to see your suggestions. I'm looking for the best value I can get for mu budget. I have no preference on CPU make nor am I likely to overclock as I've never found it made any real world difference.

AMD's stock cooler may produce noise under load. If you want cheap aftermarket cooler, you can get the Cooler Master Hyper TX3Evo, pretty solid cooler for the price.
Btw here is R9 270 (non X)

R9 270 when overclocked will give about the same performance as 270x. 270 is basically a lower clocked 270x. The definition of quiet is different for different people and it will also depend on your case. I would advise you not to get a cooler now. And after building and testing, if you think it is not quiet enough or is not cooling enough, you can order an aftermarket cooler like the CM hyper 212 evo.
