Is this an appropriate first-build?

Hi everyone a month ago I asked the same question, I made some adjustments and had to increase my budget a bit for the thinks I wanted, and now I came up with this list.

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Primo
MoBo: Asus Republic Of Gamers Maximus VI Hero
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master V8 GTS
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro CMY8GX3M2B2133C9R 2X4GB
GPU: Palit Geforce GTX 780 Super Jetstream
PSU: Corsair RM750
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB Desktop Kit
HDD: WD Black SATA 6 Gb/s WD3001FAEX 3TB
Optical Drive: Asus BW-16D1HT
OS: Windows 8.1 (OEM) 64-bit

This build is just for hardcore gaming, I want to play the latest games on ultra and offcourse be safe for the coming time.
As you may have noticed red is my favorite color so that's why I chose the CPU cooler and the memory and the blue led's in the case I'm planning to change.
This build would cost me about 1730 euro so that's around 2400 dollar and 1450 pounds. (I'm from the Netherlands)

Now let's get to the real questions:

So first I'm still not sure which monitor to choose maybe it's best to wait for the G-sync monitors what do you think? If not what's a good monitor?

Secondly is overclocking really going to make a difference in my performances.

And offcourse why I'm here is this a good build?

Regards,

Jeff

Don't buy the OEM Windows as you have to buy a new copy every time you get a new motherboard.

Ditch the V8 GTS for an AIO Water cooler

If you don't have a good monitor right now, then buy G-Sync, but if you can, wait until the price premium on G-Sync goes down.

Your build is a very good one.
I might pick a few different brands, but don't know your market.

On the monitor, consider using a 2560 x 1440 27" monitor.
The increased real estate will be very nice for gaming, and your GTX780 will deliver the FPS with ease.
Bust your budget if you need to, such a monitor will be with you for a long time.
G.sync will be of benefit if your graphics card can not consistently deliver the 60hz refresh rate of a typical monitor. I think you will have little problem with a GTX780.
Personally, I am looking towards a 4k monitor in the 40" range.
If they are affordable and can refresh at 60hz, then I will buy.

On the cpu side, a 467oK can game very well at stock.
But, with a "K" and your cooler, I would give it a conservative OC. Likely in the 4.0-4.3 range.

@ Junit151:
1. Windows 8 no longer has the OEM tie to the motherboard restriction that W7 oem did.

2. I do not much like all in one liquid coolers when a good air cooler can do the job.
A liquid cooler will be expensive, noisy, less reliable, and will not cool any better
in a well ventilated case.
Liquid cooling is really air cooling, it just puts the heat exchange in a different place.
The orientation of the radiator will cause a problem.
If you orient it to take in cool air from the outside, you will cool the cpu better, but the hot air then circulates inside the case heating up the graphics card and motherboard.
If you orient it to exhaust(which I think is better) , then your cpu cooling will be less effective because it uses pre heated case air.
And... I have read too many tales of woe when a liquid cooler leaks.
google "H100 leak"

YAAAAY!!!!

Also, the H100 gave AIOs a bad name, and I know fine how they work. But especially with the K cpu, he could do a decent amount of overclocking on good cooling. I know high end air and low end water are about equal, if not air being better, but high end AIO water beats high end air. And ever since the H100 has like a .05% leak rate (which is high) all of the AIO makers have gotten their act together. Something like a Kraken X60 or H110 with more surface area can be a beastly cooler, and put less stress on your motherboard.

You have a good build there, and you'll love the GTS V8, (love mine, in sig), yes OCing will definitely show a difference, I often change between stock and 4.6 to let clients use/play and see the difference (do same with DRAM using entry level 1600/9 and either my current 2666/11 of a variety of other DRAM set ups.... for the monitor, do you have a budget, are you thinking any size in particular? I generally look to Asus and BenQ initially

Thanks for al the quick replies!

@Junit151
I rather stay with the air cooling, still don't trust liquid around my electronics and the GTS V8 just looks amazing.

@Geofelt
Thanks did not know OEM even had restrictions, and yes I am looking forward to the 4k monitors too but since I'm going from laptop to own built desktop I do need a monitor now and yeah a 2560x1440 27 inch monitor does look very nice, so I really have to decide what's the best way to go...
A expensive monitor now and upgrade again over a year or just wait for the 4k, will the gtx780 still hande the 4k resolutions?

@Tradesman1
Yes! the GTS V8 just looks so sublime! I am new to OCing so i'll have to learn a lot about that so what do you recommend with the DRAM for my build?
And the monitor a budget yes and no if its beter to wait a couple of months for the newer/better monitors then I would say just buy a cheap/good monitor for just the begin and for the brand everythink is fine with me aslong the specs are good, and the size it has to be around 27 inch (this is for the final monitor offcourse, if go for the cheap one just for starting size doesnt matter)

Thanks all for the replies! great community!!

regards,

Jeff

EDIT: the budget for my final monitor would be around 500 euro for real good one!
