Currently I am using an ASUS VH238H but I kind of want to get a 2nd monitor.

I personally don't want to spend a bunch and am looking at the ASUS VG248QE

Would it be worth upgrading now or should I wait for the Gsync version of the VG248QE which is going to be $400.

The regular non gsync VG248QE is $232 today on NCIX w/o tax and Free shipping. (The Gsync DIY kit is $200)

If you can afford it, yes it is worth. All I hear from people who have used gsync is that it creates a much smoother gaming experience. Also, you generally want you display to be high end as possible for future proofing purposes and some people can overlook only to notice that their monitor is the limiting factor of their rig.

You've probably already made this decision, but as an owner of a GSYNC Monitor, I would recommend it. It's well worth the money, either pre-modded or doing it yourself (It's really not hard, just gotta be careful! :) )
