hello everyone, is a big difference between Xeon 5667 and Xeon E3 1230V3?

I am student architect and working with 3ds Max, Vray, Rhino, Adobe...

I am deciding between 3-old used computer set with 12 GB ram, nvidia quadro fx3800 (500$) with X5667 and new one with E3.

Hmm, thank you both.

Here is old set for 500$:

Intel Xeon X5667 12M Cache, 3.06 GHz, 6.40 GT/s
12GB RAM 1333MHz DDR3 ECC
2x HDD SAS 146GB (15000rpm)
NVidia Quadro FX3800 1GB

New set with Xeon E3 1230V3 is about 1200$...

Still don´t know....

For me I would save the money and get the old kit and upgrade in the future when you need to.(after graduation maybe). That kit will be slower at rendering etc. but since you said your a student and not professional yet the extra time isn't really going to cost you money/business.

Thats just my opinion someone else may disagree but it is up to you.
