URGENT! CPU pushed hard into the mobo

Hello,
I am building my computer and I followed religiously all the manuals I have in my hands. The one of the mobo said to not remove the plastic lid on the cpu arm/ lever before all is installed, and to apply some force to it when putting it down. I applied some force, but after realizing I could not push it in I saw that the stupid plastic cover actually was pushing on the CPU, and there are two small marks on the back of the CPU. I am worried sick that something got hurt, what should I do?

Thanks

Solution

The two small marks on the opposing sides of the chip are normal as this is where the clamp applies most of its downward force to keep the CPU in place. If the PC runs just fine, there's nothing to worry about.

I wish I could, but I don't have a camera... There are two small marks on the side of the top of the CPU. Like, there is this top silver area, well there are two small marks on the very side of it.

Yes, intel, i5. What do you mean the bottom side? the mark is on the side of the arm (on the side where the arm lays when it's open). I did check thousands of videos on youtube, I just decided to follow the mobo manual steps, because I thought they should know what they are talking about...

the bottom of the CPU. it's dangerous if the bottom side of the CPU and the CPU pins motherboard are broken. if the mark is in the CPU holder than it's fine. maybe you can googling the picture and show to me where the damage?
if you want to install the CPU, don't use the plastic CPU cover. just put it in the box.

Well I was extremely careful to not touch or even breath on the bottom side of the cpu, i put it in place, it was perfectly at the right spot, but then I didn't remove the plastic lid because the mobo manual said not to. I am not so worried about the mark itself as I am about what it means about the inside: if there was force enough to leave a mark, I am extremely worried that something on the inside (or bottom like you say) might be broken as a result.

If looking on this picture, the mark is right a little more up than the writings on the top of the cpu.

barely a scratch, but I was afraid that it got hurt inside from the pressure that made the scratch. It is all fine after all, thank you so much for your help.
