Ok so im trying a fresh install of windows 8.1 on my desktop. Once the set up loads all the files, and the language screen pops up, power to the keyboard and mouse are cut off. Neither are responsive. 
I searched online high and low and searched here and read through every forum post that i could find that was relatively the same problem that i was experiencing.
Checked all the bios settings - all good, problem still persists
Tried ps/2 m/kb (they get power but arent recognized when i try to use them.)
Someone said having two sets of mice and kb plugged into the system at the same time worked for them. I had noluck.
My main kb is the MS Ergonomic 4k
The mouse is a logitech mk508
Went out and got generic simple kb and mouse and still nothing.
So i popped my Win 7 disc and the same issues.
Please help!
